Can too much iron hurt your lawn?

Using too much iron may hurt your lawn and leave it susceptible to stress or disease. 

Also, too much liquid iron will potentially turn your lawn a dark hue of purple or even black.  It is important to follow the labeled instructions and usage rate on the product you plan to use.
